2025: Building a MEGA Civilization Σ:

2025 marks the third year of our journey as MegaETH.

In 2023, we focused on conducting rigorous performance benchmarking tests while scoping out the design for our endgame vision. It was a tough year. We went against the consensus belief of building a blockchain, facing many challenges, pushbacks, and misunderstandings. Remaining loyal to our original design principles was both the hardest and best decision of 2023.

2024 was the year of seeding the MegaETH ecosystem. Enter MegaMafia, a builders’ program designed to accelerate fully-onchain, interactive, and real-time applications that provide Emotional Value to everyday users.

2024 was also the year we announced the World Computer thesis: a single, composable, open, and permissionless state machine capable of hosting programs with minimal trust.

The World Computer isn’t just a vision, but a call to action.

2025 will be the year when MegaETH becomes more than an idea. This is the year where talk becomes reality.

Looking ahead, we want to set up goals and milestones that hold us accountable.

We understand that a real ecosystem isn’t formed when numbers go up. On the contrary, a resilient and enduring community is only formed through the thick and thin, through black swan events, and through the worst form of fud.

At MegaETH, we aim to build a mega community where members not only grow alongside us but also become our most trusted guides. To achieve this, we promise to:

  , a meaningful attempt to get our community in on the ground floor of the projects evolution. Beyond Echo, we are planning a series of crypto-native “games” that provide additional opportunities directly to the community. We promise to respect the value and time of our users.

• Skin in the Game Through MegaMafia: Our MegaMafia program isn’t just a builders’ program. It's a venue to align our application community with the greater MegaETH ecosystem. We promise to treat those who support the MegaMafia the same way we treat the MegaETH supporters: skin in the game, continuous support, always listening

• Edutainment: Education is core to the MegaETH thesis. We believe crypto’s world domination requires the community to get the right information and spread it to everyone. Through engaging and educational activities like quizzes, we aim to make learning fun while fostering deeper connections within the community. And guess what? These learning sessions have taught us more about crypto and our community than we could have ever imagined.

MegaMafia 2.0: Real-Time Apps in the World Computer

The MegaMafia program was established to collaborate with projects that genuinely require a high-performance blockchain like MegaETH. We have worked intimately with our first cohort of builders, to ensure that they succeed and demonstrate the real potential of MegaETH.

MegaMafia has already been a tremendous success. To date, Mafia projects have raised more funds than the chain itself, showcasing strong market demand for what MegaETH can unlock.

But MegaMafia 1.0 isn’t enough. As we gear toward a testnet, we are overwhelmed by the number of builders who are keen to explore what a real-time blockchain has to offer.

To accommodate builders' interest, we plan to evolve the MegaMafia into a more open and permissionless program. This evolution will take place with the launch of our testnet.

Expanding the program doesn’t mean diluting the Mafia spirit. On the contrary, the Mafia spirit will live on through:

• Our in-person builders’ offsites.

• Fully onchain, zero-to-one applications that wow the crypto natives and normies alike.

• A sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. The OG Mafia will serve as mentors to the upcoming members. The torch must be carried forward.

Why does the Mafia matter so much to us? It boils down to our World Computer thesis: a global single state machine enables a set of applications that are inherently superior. We describe this as PMF^2:

• DeFi on such a World Computer will render permissioned, controlled Finance obsolete.

• Near-instant, low-fee transactions make stablecoins practical for everyday use—remittances, microtransactions, and commerce.

• Real-time data processing and coordination among numerous devices make decentralized infrastructure viable and competitive with centralized alternatives.

• With abundant blockspace, we can now store and process non-financial data on-chain efficiently and affordably. Knowledge graph won’t be just an idea in our head, but a real decentralized network that maps relationships and interactions across various entities.

The Mafia shoulders the responsibility of de-stigmatizing crypto and bringing both financial and emotional value to end users. Without these builders, there’s no MegaETH.

2025 will be the year when we continue to pour our hearts into these builders, supporting them with fundraising, GTM, strategy, and even operational support. I often joke that my goal is to be a therapist to our builders. In 2025, I hope to meet more of you.

A Mega Civilization

People often describe blockchain as cities. We think it’s a limiting analogy. Cities are bounded by their physical infrastructure. We think of MegaETH more like a civilization.

• Civilization started from sparks of technical innovations (sailing, uncovering of precious metals). MegaETH started from a fundamentally new design of a high-performance blockchain. The design came from a deep desire to do something great. A civilization that years to grow, conquer and expand.

• Civilization grew from abundant economic activities via trade and labor specialization. MegaETH will explode via its onchain economy because, for the first time, all activities can afford to live onchain. This creates a vast surface for better economic coordination, discovery of new marketplaces, and room for agentic creatures to grow.

• Civilizations develop distinct cultures, traditions, and values that unify their people and foster a sense of belonging. A mega civilization is one united around the World Computer thesis, the speedy rabbit, the extreme tradeoff to achieve performance singularity, the admiration to bring delightful design to crypto, and the unapologetic spirits of the Mafia.

A mega civilization is governed by the people—the builders, philosophers, craftsmen, artists, and even distant travelers. 2025 is the year when we accelerate the Civilization Building.

Always Day One

It really feels like Day One, every day.

The beginner mindset is deeply rooted in our belief that the Mega journey is long, and every milestone is just a step that you approach with the same childlike wonder as the previous steps in a much longer journey.

This means continuously questioning assumptions, innovating, and building with the same energy and urgency as when we were first founded. By maintaining this sense of perpetual beginnings, a mega civilization ensures its resilience and relevance.

The meta will always change, but we are here for the longest-lasting companionship.
